Stella briefly looks in shock as the Earthsoul falls. No, this isn't the time to be distracted! After the Squigs to the north are prone, Stella blasts the Adult Squig that's still on its feet at W60. "Get back!"

Flame bursts from the ground around the reptile's feet and the beast collapses as the smell of singed flesh fills the air.

"Yee-haw! I've done seen worse 'n you, you little lizard freaks!" Dominic says.

"You ain't so bad yourself, little girl!"

Feeling a little too good about that little dodge he did, Dominic moves five spaces diagonally to the left, so I guess he ends on whereverthefuck on this huge ass map.

"You feelin' fine, boy?! This is the life, not what you had in your lil' monastery!" he says to Michelangelo as he draws his revolver in an attempt to kill the other parent squig.

Dominic snaps off a shot at the squig as he runs, catching it square in the forehead, dropping it immediately.  The two groups of youngsters, their parents dead, act on instinct, piling onto Pyotr, their teeth nipping and slicing at him.  (Take 17 total damage, this is the second critical hit the enemies have scored against you this turn, putting you at 1 HP).

Earth shock does no damage, and the HP listed for monsters is not their remaining HP, but rather is the amount of damage they've taken so far.

"PTOO"

Michelangelo spits out some shedded squig skin, trying to not to think about how it ended up in his mouth, and side-eyes Dominic.
"I'm well-acquainted--PTOO- with the precept that perfection can only be found- -HUOCK- by searching for it in the world, not merely in oneself, but this whole venture feels like little more than correcting someone else's mista-ECKKKKK-"

Michelangelo turns back to the swarming pests, seething and whooping through a fit of coughs. He bellows, AMBITION
CONVICTION
IMPOSE AND SAFEGUARD MY HOLY WILL, AS IT BECOMES TRUTH

Shield Bearer:
Attack Roll(1d20) + 4:

Total: 20

Damage Roll: Roll(2d8) + 4:
6, 1, + 4
Total: 11

summon to the left of green 1, then move it forward next to Pyotr

..or tries, but gets about as far as "AM-," before being forced to just go through the motions emphatically while coughing and gasping for breath.

Without waiting to see whether he finished the young squigs off, he flings a Healing Word prayer at Pyotr, choosing to just whisper it this time.

healing word roll:

Roll(1d6) + 0:
1, + 0
Total: 1

..perhaps getting a less than perfect casting as a result.

Michelangelo summons a glowing figure which strikes Young Squig 1 for 6 damage. Pyotr gains 13 HP (and also should have taken 10 less damage last turn), so is at 24 HP.

"Who cares about perfectin' yourself, son? What's more important is imperfectin' others!"

Excitedly, Dominic quickly draws his holstered revolver and shoots at young squig 1.

1d20+7 → [12,7] = (19)

Sly Flourish

1d10+8 → [4,8] = (12)

He knows they're less vulnerable to ranged damage, but it's the best he can do, unfortunately.

"Yee-haw!" he says.

Stella instead fires one lightning bolt at each swarm of Young Squigs.

Lightning arcs from Stella's hands and strikes the first swarm of young squigs (4 damage, it has now taken 16 total damage and is bloodied), but dissipates harmlessly between the second.

The bloodied group of youngsters begins to flee, several of their siblings dead, and instinctively the second group follows (Pyotr gets an opportunity attack on both if he wants, also you guys could chase them down, but otherwise they seem to be fleeing).

100 XP all around.

Seeing the lizards fleeing with their tails between their legs, Stella examines the battlefield looking for something, like a diary or map or written document, that the couple might have left behind. We'd better have gotten something for our troubles here...

As the squiglings flee, Michelangelo exhales even more heavily than before and leans on his spear, gaze turned to the sky.
He mutters, "It's a small mercy you've given me, but I'll take it."

Clearing his throat, he intones two final healing word prayers for himself and Pyotr.

Healing word rolls:
Michelangelo: 1d6 +4 +6:
Roll(1d6)+0:
5, + 4 + 6
Total: +16 HP
HP: 12/26 => 26

Pyotr: Roll(1d6) +4 +8:
2,+12
Total: +14 HP
HP: 24/34 => 34

Heaving off with a found-again bounce in his gait, he sheathes his spear and moves to join Stella in the examination, unholstering his pistol as he goes. He addresses Dominic as he reloads it.
"I've never heard a man of any cloth, much less my own, who spoke at all like you. Delightful though you are, to be sure. Never seen one, or any sort of man, really, carry themselves or act quite like you do, either. Or at least, not for any longer than I'd be able to catch of some fellow being paraded about before his public execution."

Reholstering his gun, Michelangelo continues, placing his hands behind his back.
"Begging your pardon for the comparison. May I ask where you're from?"

"Y'see son," Dominic blows the smoke off his revolver and holsters it stylishly (you know, the whole spinny thing), "this is what I meant by imperfectin' others. You imperfect them, an' you'll stand the only perfect one."

He looks about him.

"We got nothin' more to do here. Let's move on."

He walks away, then he turns a little.

"Assanti, by the way," and he starts walking again.

"...I suppose that's one way to look at the concept, 'history written by the victors.'"
Michelangelo stood in thought a moment, before starting up again; "wait, that's not what I-"

But Dominic seemed to have moved on.

Struck slightly dumb, Michelangelo returned to looking around. "Slippery. Hrm."

A cursory search of the area reveals a recently used fire pit, as well as some charred animal bones. You don't see much else, but after searching a little bit, you spot a short figure crouching near the treeline. As you focus, it looks like a wizened goblin, leaning on some sort of spear or staff. It appears to be watching you.

Michelangelo quickly shoots Pyotr a glowering, twitchy look out of the corner of his eyes, then turns up to face the goblin. He takes a couple steps in its direction, smiling and clasping his hands. He speaks in the common language (on a guess/hope), attempting to maintain a warm tone while still being heard;

"I apologize if we intrude! We will not harm you, take from you, or stay long. We're just looking to find some others like us, who may have come this way. Have any other humans been here recently, if I may ask?"

'make a diplomacy roll just in case,' I said.:
Roll(1d20)+7:
2,+7
Total:9

Michelangelo racks his brain while speaking, trying to think whether he'd heard any reports of goblins in the area, native or otherwise.

History knowledge roll, and religion just in case:
History Roll(1d20)+8:
12,+8
Total:20

Religion Roll(1d20)+8:
12,+8
Total:20

I'm not making these rolls up I swear:

As he finishes, he whispers through his teeth, gaze still on the goblin;
"Simple words. Don't scare it."

The goblin looks at Michelangelo warily and shades his eyes before stepping slowly forward.

"Who are you?" he asks in a guttural accent, "If you're looking for the two that stayed here, they're long gone. I followed them a little, you know. The bandits got them, so I ran back home."
